I really enjoyed reading this, Nzinga! And I have so much to say I feel like I’ll forget a lot 😭

It’s so sad to see gentrification taking over cities across the globe and how indigenes are left homeless and worse off than when their cities were “underdeveloped.”

You make me want to attend an Abidjan book fair now. I like that you included a story of when you attended your first book fair as a kid, it was so cute. I loved your review and liked reading your thoughts on the books, the music, the publishers. And I find the Adora collection intriguing. This is the first I’m hearing of it.

On the topic of some Ivorian books having ugly covers and being didactic, I get you!

I’m grateful for the growth of Nigerian literature but I can’t forget the books I read as a child that constantly shamed and punished women whose actions diverged from what society required of them.

You’re an amazing writer and I hope to keep reading your work. I hope your book is coming along well and that you’re resting and taking care of yourself <3
